Cycling Like Other Kids
The goals of our Cycling Like Other Kids program are to:
- provide students with physical disabilities an opportunity to improve their coordination, endurance and balance;
- enable them to participate in an activity that the majority of children experience;
- assist them to use cycling as a recreation; and
- help the children gain self-confidence and self-esteem as they achieve success.
All children need regular exercise to stay fit and healthy. However ‘normal’ bicycles are not appropriate for our children and in order to experience the pleasure of riding just like other children, the school provides a range of specialised cycles. Families may also hire the cycles through holiday periods.
DreamFit Foundation and Variety WA can also assist with specialised cycles for children. View the DreamFit bikes brochure or visit the Variety WA website.
