The Principal, Roslyn Hamling is responsible for the educational leadership and management of our school. All teaching staff meet the professional requirements to teach in Western Australian public schools and can be found on the public register of teachers of the Western Australian College of Teaching. Our professional, university-educated teachers work to improve students’ levels of educational achievement. They encourage students to become successful learners who are confident and creative individuals. They maintain the highest integrity and concern for your child’s well-being. All Education Assistants, who work alongside classroom teachers and support teaching and learning, have Level 3 status.

Kylie ButlerDeputy Principal
I have worked within the education department for 34 years in varying roles across all regions. My passion is creating positive, caring relationships between students, staff, parents and the wider community to ensure our children become the best versions of themselves. My focus will be to support the growth of our school staff to ensure our students are fully immersed in learning and ensuring the appropriate resources are received.

Peter SalleoDeputy
I will be working for the children of Carson Street School to improve educational opportunities.
My focus is to develop strong relationships with our families and the school community and to ensure our children explore the educational opportunities available to them, to enhance their learning.

Janine BeattieCulture Leader
I have been working in the Education Support field for over 20 years. I have held a number of positions in a variety of student-based settings: Playgroup Leader, mainstream Pre-Primary teacher, Special Needs Teacher and Satellite (Early Childhood) and Deputy Principal at Durham Road School. My passion has always been, and continues to be, to work with and for children to help them strive to be the best they can be.

Linking Student Learning and Well-being
Christa Du Plessis is employed four days a week and is funded by the Federal Government National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program.
The aims of the role are to:
• Provide whole-school support
• Work with teachers and students
• Work with parents
• Work with the community
The CSO is available for a confidential chat with students, families, and staff from the Carson Street School Community on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Appointments can be made through the school office on 6216 4950 or by email

I have worked for the Department of Education since 2014 as a school psychologist across diverse demographic and multicultural primary schools and secondary schools. I am excited to be at Carson Street working with our staff and wonderful students.
