Music

The music specialist provides a wide variety of musical experiences including opportunities to participate in percussion, singing, movement and the playing of instruments.

Music sessions also provide opportunities to engage in a range of social interactions.

The key outcomes of the program are:

  1. To teach music focus skills that will achieve outcomes compatible with the WA Curriculum in Music.
  2. To support classroom programs with music-based activities.
  3. To provide positive behaviour support through music-based activities.
  4. To provide authentic communication opportunities

A guided play-based approach to learning is used in music classes as recommended in the Early Years Learning Framework.

This includes parallel play, associative play and cooperative play-based activities, depending on the student’s level of development.
