Swimming / Hydrotherapy

Students participate in swimming and hydrotherapy each week.  Aims of the swimming program are to promote participation, water awareness, water confidence and basic water safety, swimming and survival skills.

Hydrotherapy benefits students who have a physical disability, through participation in gentle rhythmic movements that promote relaxation. When students are relaxed, they are able to participate in gentle stretches and passive extension of their limbs to help maintain movement.  Hydrotherapy also provides stimulation to respiratory and circulatory systems, which is beneficial to students’ wellbeing.
